Decorative Street Lighting

N+P has prepared decorative streetlighting plans for various municipalities along Town, County and NYSDOT roadways along with the preparation of the Highway Work Permits and perform field inspection during installation as directed.

N+P prepared base mapping for each location which includes obtaining topographic data, coordination with overhead and underground utilities, and location of approximate Highway Boundary.  The Design Plans will include typical sections, details, Work Zone Traffic Control, General Plans for layout of lighting poles and conduit, restoration details, utility conflicts and Construction Estimate based on current unit prices.  All wiring is designed to be in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).

This process may include meetings with the Civic Associations to assist in the selection of the decorative poles, fixtures and locations. Typically, fixtures are LED and N+P performs the photometric drawings to determine the light distribution along the sidewalk and roadway.

N+P assists the municipality during the award process by preparing the project’s bid package, responding to bidders’ requests, attending the pre-bid meeting, review and analysis of bids, and recommendation of award.  During construction, N+P may providing daily construction inspection and monitor of the work performed by the contractor to ensure conformance with contract documents, review and approve shop drawings and contractor’s payment requests, and prepare “punch list” items of work to be completed, and contract close-out.
