The Sea Cliff Yacht Club retained Nelson + Pope to provide engineering, permitting, and environmental compliance services for the development of a new bathing beach facility in Sea Cliff, New York. The project was undertaken to establish a bathing beach that complied with New York State Sanitary Code Subpart 6-2 and Nassau County Department of Health (NCDH) requirements. N+P prepared the required sanitary survey report, engineering design, and construction plans for the bathing beach facility, developed permit application materials, and coordinated with NCDH throughout the review process to obtain regulatory approval. During construction, our team provided engineering services for construction observation, certification, and final acceptance of the completed facility in accordance with NCDH requirements.

Throughout the design phase, N+P continued to support the project through a series of environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance services. Our team coordinated with New York State-certified laboratories to establish EPA Method 1600 testing protocols, obtained laboratory certification, and managed communication of testing data with NCDH. N+P implemented a comprehensive water quality monitoring program that included routine weekly sampling, additional sampling following qualifying rain events, and weekend and holiday sampling when required. We coordinated laboratory analysis, compiled and evaluated water quality data, prepared technical reports documenting sampling locations, methodologies, and test results, and provided ongoing agency coordination and meeting support to help ensure the bathing beach remained in compliance with public health standards and regulatory requirements
