Nelson + Pope is an established multi-disciplined engineering, architecture and surveying partnership located in Melville, New York.

We have been providing services to municipalities, developers and property & business owners on Long Island and in the New York Metropolitan area since 1954. Our history has provided Nelson + Pope with the expertise, knowledge of current design and construction standards and specifications, as well as familiarity with the character and nature of our Cities, Towns, and Villages.

In 1997, to meet the needs of our clients, Nelson + Pope and Charles Voorhis & Associates joined forces to create an affiliate firm, Nelson Pope Voorhis. NPV is an environmental, planning and land use consulting firm with the staff and expertise necessary to address complex problem solving and develop creative solutions in the areas of environmental impact/SEQRA; land use planning; wetland permitting & coastal planning; economic & market analysis; Phase I/II; environmental science and management.

Work generated by the engineering and environmental sectors of Nelson + Pope and NPV developed a demand for providing subsurface investigations, sampling, analysis and monitoring. In 2009, East Coast Geoservices, was founded and became part of the Nelson & Pope team. East Coast Geoservices provides soil and water sampling and investigation services to private industry and municipalities throughout the tri-state area.

Through 70 years of quality service to our clients, Nelson + Pope has grown in both reputation and size. Nelson + Pope now employs over 100 technical and support staff and includes experienced teams of dedicated professionals with diversified expertise. The firm’s principals, as well as its senior staff, are licensed Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Architects. Many of our firm’s partners and employees have advanced degrees/certifications in such areas as transportation engineering, civil engineering, LEED, urban and regional design and planning; environmental sciences, construction management, wastewater engineering, and business management

OUR LEADERSHIP

All of the firm’s principals, as well as many of the key staff, are licensed Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors or Registered Architects. Many of the employees have advanced degrees in traffic and transportation engineering, civil engineering, sanitary/environmental engineering and business management, as well as certification/certificates in construction technology, stormwater management and LEED®.
