The Town of Southampton’s modernization of the HVAC system in the Town’s nearly 100-year-old Town Hall building recently won the Better Buildings Award presented by the US Department of Energy.
Nelson + Pope’s MEP division provided design, bidding, and construction phase services for the project. The high efficiency design on this project eliminated nearly 210 metric tons of carbon emissions by replacing a fossil fuel-based HVAC infrastructure with variable refrigerant flow air-source heat pumps and energy recovery ventilators, eliminating 100% of the fossil fuel use at this 72,000 sq. ft. building.
