Before Engineers can proceed with the design phase on any project site, it must first be surveyed. Surveyors are the “first boots on the ground” and they deliver mapping from accurate measurements of boundaries and the land form for specific areas, while utilizing diverse means of measurements to obtain the most optimal and cost-effective design. Over the years, surveying measurements have evolved and morphed into more efficient means such as the use of Drones used for base mapping to create contour maps. Topographic survey includes the contours of the land and boundary lines for property limits and is used for projects anywhere from a single homeowner to a large state improvement project. The synergy between surveying and engineering is a seamless and timeless art of its own which contributes to the overall progression and safety of communities.
