Holbrook Sewers

Nelson + Pope has been granted the opportunity of providing engineering services for the design and implementation of sewer infrastructure for a sewer district extension to Suffolk County Sewer District #3 – Bergen Point to provide sewer services to the Business District along Main Street and part of Union Avenue in Holbrook, New York. The Business District currently generates sanitary wastewater in excess of the as-of-right density, yet is poised for business/development growth which may be induced by providing public sewers in the area. The existing development utilizes onsite conventional sewage disposal systems discharging effluent into the ground. Sewer service in the area will not only usher in socioeconomic and environmental benefit to the area, but most importantly protect the groundwater from pollutants of minimally treated sewage.
