CADD Drafter/Survey Technician

Nelson + Pope looking is searching for a full-time CADD Drafter/Survey Technician in our Land Surveying department. Our clients are a wide range of public and private clientele i.e., NYS, NYC, Local Counties, Towns, Private developers, Contractors, Builders, homeowners, etc. The type of survey work includes boundary, topographic, hydrographic, drafting from point clouds, As builts and Construction layout, of all sizes and types. Office software includes the latest release AutoCAD Civil 3d, Carlson Survey, MicroStation, Trimble Business center, etc. Knowledge of older CADD versions are acceptable and will train on newer CADD release if candidates experience is sufficient.

Junior Accountant/Billing Specialist

Nelson + Pope is currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual to support mid-size engineering firm in our Melville, NY offices as a Junior Accountant/Billing Specialist.  Qualified individuals will have a degree in accounting or similar experience required; working knowledge of accounting terms and principals; knowledge of Deltek Accounting Software (preferred, but not required), or similar software utilized by Engineering/Architecture firms; proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, including advance excel options such as pivot tables, lookups, etc. and working experience in Quickbooks accounting software. Duties for this position will include but are not limited to:

Job Responsibilities:

Accounting/Bookeeping Functions

  • Process accounts payable.
  • Process accounts receivable
  • Prepare weekly balance report
  • Enter weekly payroll entries
  • Enter journal entries as needed
  • Credit memos
  • Participate in annual audits, contract renewals and other administrative tasks.
  • Weekly reporting

Client Billings

  • Prepare draft invoices and/or distribute billing review reports monthly.
  • Provide copies of invoices, contracts, or statements if requested by project manager.
  • Prepare credits and rebills as needed.
  • Finalize and file invoices.

Other:

  • Special projects as needed.
